At just 11 years old and entering the 6th grade at Milford Middle School, King is already making a tremendous impact both inside and outside of his school and athletic communities. An honor student, young leader, athlete, mentor, and philanthropist, King represents exactly what this new award is all about — recognizing young people who are using their talents, character, and heart to make a difference.
King has already accomplished more than many young people his age. He proudly served as the 20th Little Mr. DSU (Delaware State University) and made a memorable appearance alongside the brothers of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Psi Epsilon Chapter, helping them capture first place in the 2024 DSU Homecoming Step Show Championships.
His commitment to leadership extends into his school as well. King spent two years participating in his school’s leadership program as a Safety Patrol member, demonstrating responsibility and a willingness to serve and look out for others.
But perhaps what makes King stand out most is the way he gives back. He has volunteered as a mentor and buddy for the Special Olympics, giving his time and energy to encourage and support other young athletes. He also regularly gives back to children in need by donating his clothing and sneakers to those who may be less fortunate.
And now, King is taking his talents to the football field. He currently plays running back for the Cape Elite Vikings, where he is continuing to develop as an athlete while learning the values of teamwork, discipline, perseverance, and leadership that extend far beyond the game.
King already has big dreams for his future. He plans to attend Delaware State University for college and hopes to one day become a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., following a path centered around scholarship, manhood, leadership, and service to the community.
King Williams is a wonderful example of what can happen when a young person is encouraged to lead, serve, compete, and give back. His accomplishments on the field are impressive, but it is his character away from the field that makes him truly deserving of this recognition.

This is only the beginning of what we hope will become a special tradition throughout Delaware — shining a spotlight on young people who are making a positive difference in their schools, neighborhoods, athletic programs, and communities.
